Learn how to make two woodworking jigs from a single 24”x24” project piece of plywood!

Ever struggle to sand small parts? Want to incorporate tenons into your next woodworking project? In this video, Logan Newman from Newman Specials Woodwork will walk you through each step for how to make two simple jigs using some plywood. This is a great way to use up scraps around your shop, plus it’s super quick with the use of Titebond’s Instant Bond Wood Adhesive (fancy way of saying super glue!) so you can spend less time on prep and more time working on your project.

Whether you have a 5” or a 6” sander, the small parts sanding dock is easy to make. Sanding tiny pieces can be really tedious and there’s a good chance you’ll also sand your fingertips if you have been doing this the hard way up until now! The trick with making a good docking station for your sander is finding a way to make it fit snug with still being able to remove it easily. Logan shows how this can be accomplished using your sander itself.

When it comes to incorporating tenons into your woodworking bag of tricks, Logan suggests this quick jig for your table saw to be able to not only create tenons, but also dados, slots, or reveals in a safe and effective manner. Use this video as guidance and then customize it to fit your specific table saw fence.

Both of these woodworking jigs are easy to make with help from Titebond wood glue as well as their CA glue and accelerator. TMCU’s favorite in the Titebond line-up of Instant Bond adhesives is the Medium viscosity but the thick is a great option when working with more porous materials like barn wood.

Consider enrolling in TMCU for full access to all of the educational content and follow along with Logan for more tips and tricks on how to:

  • Remove glue squeeze-out with a common household item

  • Apply Titebond 3 on end grain for best adhesion

  • Install and adjust toggle clamps on the tenoning jig
